I’m Erv — a retired mechanical engineer who has spent a lifetime reading the Bible and now spends his retirement building digital tools to study it more deeply. Ervbo is where that work lives.
My conviction is simple: Scripture rewards careful study. I’ve read the Bible cover to cover many times, and every pass turns up something I hadn’t seen before. These days my study runs through the original languages — tracing Hebrew and Greek word families with Strong’s concordance to see how a single thread of meaning, like God’s promise to renew and restore His creation, runs from Genesis to Revelation.
An engineer’s habits die hard, so I approach the text the way I approached my work: from first principles, with the best tools I can find, and when the right tool doesn’t exist, I build it. That’s what you’ll find here — study resources, word-study projects, and recordings of preaching that has shaped me.
Along the way I’ve learned from faithful teachers: Charles Spurgeon above all, along with Warren Wiersbe, Erwin Lutzer, John Piper, and Thomas Aquinas. If their fingerprints show up in these pages, that’s no accident.
Everything here is free. If it helps you read the Word more closely, it has done its job.
